I started Resume Template Lab to give people a simple place to find a free resume template, make a copy, and get on with an application. The goal is to save you time on formatting so you can focus on what you want to say.
Why I made this
A resume template should give you a starting point without becoming another task on your list. My aim with this project is simple: put editable layouts in one place and make them easy to use in Google Docs or Word.
Some people want a plain, one-column resume. Others need more room for projects, a longer work history, or a different style. The library gives you options so you can choose a starting point that fits your experience.
A starting point for your own resume
The templates are starting points. The names, jobs, and achievements in the samples are examples to replace with your own information. Before sending a resume, check the wording, dates, spacing, and exported file. Choose a layout that fits your experience and follow any formatting requirements in the job posting.
Free to use, easy to make your own
You can browse the library and copy a template into Google Docs or download it for Word. There is no subscription needed to get a template. Pick a layout you like, replace the sample text, and adjust it to the job you are applying for.
Want to help the project?
If you find something useful here, sharing it is a great way to help. You could link to Resume Template Lab from your blog or website, add a template to a career resources page, or mention the site on your social media accounts.
You can share resumetemplatelab.com or link directly to the template you found helpful. Sending it to a friend who is looking for work helps, too. There is no obligation; I appreciate every thoughtful recommendation that helps someone find a resource they can use.
Thanks for taking a look. I hope something here saves you a bit of time and makes your next application easier.
