Leading with projects when experience is thin

At this stage the projects section does the work a second job would normally do. Give each project a name, the stack, what it does and one concrete number: users, requests handled, test coverage, load time. Link to the repository. Put the internship in the experience section with the same bullet format as a job, not in a footnote. Education stays near the top until you have two or three years of professional work, at which point the Software Engineer Resume layout becomes the better fit. If you're still a student applying for placements, the Internship Resume is the version with education and coursework first.

Getting through the first screen

Junior roles get the most applications, so the resume usually meets a parser before a person. Name the languages and frameworks exactly as the posting does, keep the layout single-column or use a two-column template that's been built to parse, and skip icons and skill bars. The ATS-friendly resume checklist has a quick plain-text test. Related early-career layouts for other fields are grouped under entry-level resume templates; for a frontend-focused first role, the React Developer Resume shows how to present a narrower stack in depth.
