Free Harvard Resume Template

The classic career-office format: education at the top, bold section headings, tight action-verb bullets and no design elements. Used by students and graduates applying to consulting, finance and competitive programs.

The sample is a recent graduate applying to consulting roles. Replace it with your own.

Why this format is recommended

It's dense, conventional and easy to scan, which is what campus recruiters and applicant tracking systems both want. Education leads while you're within a few years of graduating; after that, experience moves up. Bullets start with a verb and end with a result. The College Student Resume and Entry Level Resume are looser versions of the same idea. For finance applications specifically, the Financial Analyst Resume shows the bullet style banks expect.

Keeping it to one page

This format is strict about one page. Cut older activities before shrinking the font; the overflow fix guide helps. Other format-driven layouts are grouped under resume formats and styles.
