2-Column Resume Format

A clean A4 layout with a narrow sidebar for contact details, skills and education, a thin vertical divider, and a wide experience column.

The three core formats

The Chronological Resume and Reverse Chronological Resume are the standard most-recent-first structure. The Functional Resume groups experience by skill for career changers and people with gaps. Hybrids of the two are covered in the career change resume templates.

Length and column formats

The 2 Page Resume and 2-Column Resume Format are the reference layouts for those two decisions, and the Simplest Resume Format is the plainest possible page. Full categories exist for two-page layouts and two-column layouts.

Country and institution formats

The Federal Resume follows US government requirements, the Canadian Resume Format matches Canadian employer expectations, and the Harvard Resume is the format recommended by many university career offices. For academic applications, see the Academic CV and the wider CV templates page.
