Free AI Engineer Resume Template

A resume for engineers building products on top of foundation models and applied AI: integrating APIs and open models, building retrieval and evaluation systems, and shipping features users touch.

The sample is an AI engineer who built an LLM-based support assistant end to end. Replace it with your own systems and results.

What to show in a fast-moving field

AI engineering roles vary a lot, so be concrete about the layer you work at: prompt and evaluation pipelines, retrieval-augmented systems, fine-tuning, agent frameworks, or the surrounding product engineering. Then show outcomes the way any engineer would: answer accuracy on an eval set, latency and cost per request, deflection rate, adoption. Name models and frameworks as the posting does. Because the field changes quickly, keep the resume updated and the tools honest. If your work is deeper in training and serving, the Machine Learning Engineer Resume is the reference; if it's research and modelling, the Data Scientist Resume. The product engineering underneath is the same as in the Software Engineer Resume.

Projects and side work

Many AI engineers have relevant open-source or side projects. Give them a short section with links; a working demo is worth several bullets. Keep the layout single-column; the ATS-friendly resume guide explains why. For backend-heavy AI infrastructure roles, the Backend Developer Resume shows how service and API work is written.
