Impact first, method second

Hiring managers want to know what your model or experiment changed before they want to know how it worked. 'Built a churn model (gradient boosting, AUC 0.87) that let the retention team target the top 5% at-risk accounts, cutting monthly churn 1.4 points' gives both in one line. Mention deployment where it happened; a model in production beats one in a notebook. Keep the tools block honest and grouped: languages, libraries, data platforms, experimentation tools. If your work is mostly production ML systems, the Machine Learning Engineer Resume puts engineering first; if it's mainly analysis and reporting, the Data Analyst Resume is the closer layout. LLM and applied AI roles have their own emphasis in the AI Engineer Resume.

Research, publications and length

If you came from academia, one short section for publications and talks is enough; a full list belongs in a CV, and the Academic CV is the layout for research positions. Two pages is acceptable after five or six years; the two-page resume templates show how to keep it consistent. For pipeline-heavy roles, the Data Engineer Resume is the reference.
