When two pages is the right length

If cutting to one page means dropping relevant roles or shrinking the type, use two. Recruiters don't mind a second page when the first one already makes the case. The 2 Page Resume Template is a neutral starting point. The Simple 2-Page Resume keeps the design minimal, while the Professional Two-Page Resume adds room for awards and publications. The Long Career Resume uses a sidebar so a substantial chronology stays readable, and the Professional Chronological Resume is a spacious timeline for candidates with several similar roles.

Keeping page two useful

Front-load the first page with the summary, the two or three most relevant roles and key skills. Page two carries earlier positions, education, certifications and anything supplementary. Repeat your name in the header so a separated second page can still be identified. Senior applicants may also want the executive resume templates, most of which are two pages. If you're only over by a few lines, the one-page layouts and the overflow fix guide may get you back to one.

Two-page examples

Academic and research careers almost always run long; the Academic CV is the reference for that. The Director Resume and Engineering Manager Resume show how leadership scope is spread across two pages without repetition.

Common questions

How much experience justifies two pages?

Roughly ten years, or fewer if your roles involved distinct projects and results that each need explaining.

Should page two be full?

At least two-thirds. A second page with three lines on it looks like an overflow, not a plan.

Do I need page numbers?

Optional. A header with your name on page two is more useful.
